👋 Meet Our New Team Member – PCSO 17354 Luke MURPHY!

We’re pleased to welcome PCSO Luke Murphy to the team!

Luke brings with him over seven years of experience from Derbyshire Police’s control room:

“I joined Derbyshire Police in September 2018 and spent just over seven years in the control room, where I took both 101 and 999 calls. I also worked on emails and digital contact.
The majority of calls and contacts I dealt with were from the public, but I also got to deal with other forces, Social Services, medical professionals, and schools.

I enjoyed my time in the control room, and coming from a non-police background, it gave me the opportunity to see how the service works. However, I only saw the start of the process and rarely saw how an incident ended.

I applied for the PCSO role so I could get more involved in the many community jobs I heard while taking 101 calls. I want to be involved in the solutions and helping people, rather than just being the recorder.”
